THE ANT PHILOSOPHY

Over the years I’ve been teaching children about a simple but powerful concept - the ant philosophy. I think everybody should study ants. They have an amazing four-part philosophy, and here is the first part: ants never quit. That’s a good philosophy. If they’re headed somewhere and you try to stop them; they’ll look for another way. They’ll climb over, they’ll climb under, and they’ll climb around. They keep looking for another way. What a neat philosophy, to never quit looking for a way to get where you’re supposed to go.

Second, ants think winter all summer. That’s an important perspective. You can’t be so naive as to think summer will last forever. So ants are gathering in their winter food in the middle of summer.

An ancient story says, "Don’t build your house on the sand in the summer." Why do we need that advice? Because it is important to be realistic. In the summer, you’ve got to think storm. You’ve got to think rocks as you enjoy the sand and sun. Think ahead.

The third part of the ant philosophy is that ants think summer all winter. That is so important. During the winter, ants remind themselves, "This won’t last long; we’ll soon be out of here." And the first warm day, the ants are out. If it turns cold again, they’ll dive back down, but then they come out the first warm day. They can’t wait to get out.

And here’s the last part of the ant philosophy. How much will an ant gather during the summer to prepare for the winter? All he possibly can. What an incredible philosophy, the "all-you-possibly-can" philosophy.

Wow, what a great seminar to attend - the ant seminar. Never give up, look ahead, stay positive and do all you can.

Yesterday, in the middle of my review, I suddenly had the urge to clean out one of the drawers of my study desk… (You see, lima kasi lahat ang drawers.)

And…

I found pictures which I borrowed from Kuya Velly… para sana mapa-recopy ko… But wasn’t able to… (Kaya Kuya VJ, kung nababasa mo ito… akin na lang ito ha…)

Anyway, naalala ko lang… This was the first "laag" that we (ako, Janjan, Jhing and Kuya VJ) had… sa New Bataan, Compostela Valley… Sa place nila Jhing… It was just after summer classes last 2004… Tagal na no? Super reminisce naman daw ako…

Pagdating pa lang namin, sa labas ng bahay nila Jhing, biniyayaan na kami ni Lord (kasi parang may "ray-of-light-from-the-Heavens" ang picture namin… hmmm… mukhang overexposed lang yata ito? Hehehe…) ng sunny day… a very nice day for laag laag… Hehehe…

Mejo nainip kami ni Janjan kasi we still can’t decide where we would go (pde daw kasi mag-trek (wah?!) o mag-swim)… Kaya, she decided to hug a papaya tree, at ako… well, i look like I was doing my business!!! Whatda?! HAHAHA!

So, for that day, pumunta kami ng Kalamukan (I dunno with the name… pero, totoo… andaming giant lamok… hehehe) Hiking ng about 45 minutes… And after taking this pic, umulan!  Okay lang… Hike pa rin… And at the end of the road, may water falls (with super lamig na tubig na parang galing sa ref na ni-"set" sa high) Tapos, hindi namin alam kung saan kami mag-se-set-up ng fire… kasi yung ulam na dala namin (BBQ), well, hilaw pa, at kami pa ang mag-sugba. Hehehe… May banana leaf kami na payong… Tinatakpan yung fire na ni-"start" namin… It really was a funny sight. Buti nakaluto kami kahit umuulan… At buti na lang, lutô na ang kanin… (Sayang walang picture nun… at ng waterfalls… pag-nakita ko yung ibang pics –> perhaps nasa ibang drawer ;p –> upload ko dito)

So, umuwi na kami… Wet and wasted… Pero happy… We even had time to goof around… Nga lang, ako yata pinag-"trip"-pan hehehe… Ginawa nila akong uod! (Hehe… That’s me, nasa loob ng sleeping bag –> Mukhang caterpillar!) 

Next day, swimming day namin… We went to "Bamboo" and then to "Toyozu".  Hehe… Takaw sa tubig itong mga ‘to… Ooops… ako din pala… (that’s why we click! ;p) Tapos, papunta doon, our only means of transportation is by habal-habal… At kasi ayaw naming gumastos ng malaki, nagsiksikan na lang kami sa isang giant motorcycle.  Kasha naman kami. Cute, diba?

Sa "Bamboo", free flowing yung tubig (kaya super lamig). At may maraming levels ng swimming pool… kaya palipat lipat kami ng pool. Oh, diba… for a minimal fee,  andami na naming napuntahang pool!

Sa "Toyozu", free flowing din, pero "hot spring" dito… May sauna, may 7 mini-pools near the hot spring source, at pde ka raw magluto ng egg sa hot spring dahil sa sobrang init… (Pero bawal na raw magluto nun…)

Siyempre nagdala kami ng egg (dahil likas na matigas ulo namin)… Pero, disaster! Pumutok ang egg, at nag-flow dun sa first ng 7 mini pools yung laman ng egg. (Nagmukha tuloy na malabnaw na soup yung swimming pool) Disaster talaga… Ayan kasi… Buti na lang, kami lang nandun… And we immediately drained (Are we allowed to do that? Tigas ulo kasi… Hehehe.) the water sa pool na iyon! Pero, okay lang… dun na lang kami sa last pool nag-tampisaw, ina-antay na mangalahati na yung tubig sa first pool… (Para di gaano obvious ang aming error… ;p)

But alas! Kelangan na naming umuwi… Short lang kasi… Two days… Pero okay lang… Kapagod, yeah, pero, it was all worth it…

Dito nagsimulang naging strong ang friendship naming apat… Isang love-hate relationship… Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!! Pero, eto… Buhay pa rin ang samahan… (Beer pa bay… Gi-sunggo na ko… ;p)
